Highway Safety

With more and more vehicles on the road, safety is a predominant theme these days.  One can never be too careful when thinking of the endless possibilities of incidents that can and do occur on the road each and every day.  Driving these days has become a defensive activity, watching out for all the other drivers and road hazards that come our way.

There are many things that you can do to make your trip safer for you and your family.  In 2006, 55% of people killed in car accidents were not wearing a seat belt.  Even if you are wearing your seat belt there is a device that will give you more control while in the seat.  This small but effective device is called a, “SeatTite,” which attaches to your seat belt.  This device locks you in better to your seat and gives you more control without slipping.  This is especially important in extreme driving conditions or in a hazardous situation where a split second decision is needed.   This type of device has been used for years with off road racers and other race car drivers to boost their handling abilities of the vehicle.

There are numerous accidents each year from fatigued drivers.  Many people simply fall asleep at the wheel or are in such a drowsy state that their awareness is too low to react to a hazardous incident.  A small device that will prevent this condition and save lives is the, “Eye Alert,” Fatigue Warning System.   This self contained unit sits on your dash and monitors your eye blink condition to detect a driver falling asleep.  When it detects a hazardous pattern, it sets off an alarm waking you up.  Such a device could prevent many single and multiple car accidents.

Everyone should do his part to make the roads a safer place for all of us.  Take precautions and always drive on the defensive, watching out for the hazards coming your way!
